Dial Desk: actual running game, showing the board and controls
The game’s own board and controls. The points below refer to these mechanics.

The rule to keep in mind

Dial Desk is a concentric-ring puzzle on a warm craft desk. Vintage devices — a cream radio, desk alarm, mini safe, rotary phone and box camera — each carry brass rings with notches. Drag rings one notch at a time so the true gaps line up with the bolt slot, then pull the bolt. Early dials teach with honest gaps; later ones add painted fake gaps that jam the bolt and flake off so you can retry. Thirty-six hand-tuned dials across five packs, from Teach through Finale.

Start with the constraint

Painted gaps look almost right — if the bolt jams, that gap was fake.

Make one useful change

Work from the outer ring in when a dial has three rings.

Keep a way back

After a jam the flake stays visible, so the next attempt is honest.

Play today’s Daily Dial for one seeded puzzle that matches everyone else’s.

Controls and a safe pause

Drag rings with the mouse. Keyboard: A/D outer, Q/E middle, Z/C inner; Space or Enter pulls the bolt. On-screen buttons for stages, title and mute. Drag rings with a finger; use the Pull bolt button. Landscape feels best on small screens.

Open the game’s menu to pause and find its save tools. This game has no export tool; keep browser data to retain its progress. If a step feels unclear, return to the rule and the current goal rather than rushing.
